Consortium for Stem Cell Therapies

stemcell1The University of Michigan announced the creation of the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute Consortium for Stem Cell Therapieas to create embryonic stem cell lines.

This is the first major embryonic stem cell research program
launched in Michigan since the November 4th passage of a state constitutional
amendment allowing scientists to create new stem cell lines using
surplus embryos from fertility clinics.
